I've seen a few forums with this problem but not found any answer yet.

I set up a virtual site, www.mydomain.com -added users, configured email to have the following aliases, mail.mydomain.com, mydomain.com I can send email to users if i address it user@www.mydomain.com but not if I address it user@mydomain.com -it sends a message back saying authentication required

So can anyone please tell me what more I have to do? (RAQ 550 OS)

did you setup your mail client to use "my outgoing mail server requires authentication"
raq noob
Yes I did, because the acocunt I'm sending from does require authentication.
But this specific problem relates to the RAQ recieving email.

I just don't get why it can handle user@www.domain.com / user@mail.domain.com but not user@domain.com

email alias have been set for mail.domain.com and domain.com

I also notice that when outlook send the test message it works

i.e. user@domain.com sends to user@domain.com

so my guess id that something is requiring Authentication for external servers to send email to my RAQ, so now the question is, how do I just let anyone send email?

Can anyone shed any light on this, seems to be quite a common problem from all the stuff I've found on the web.

please......
