My server was recently 'compromised'. I have done all the upgrades available on the Sun site but there is nothing recent due to Sun 'dumping' the servers.

Apparently I need to upgrade Apache but I cannot work out what version of Apache is there - let alone how to upgrade it. Can anyone offer any advice (other than getting rid of this antiquated server which I will do once I can get everything moved.)

*NOTE* I have not worked on a raq in a long time. From what I remember you can easily upgrade apache and php from source. If that is the case, you may want to search to be sure you do not screw it up, you can compile apache relatively easy from a guide on the apache website.

PHP is a little more complex because of the required libs for all the php extensions. If you do want to source compile php it may take some time to get it working.

I would first suggest looking around to see if you can find some people that are still offering patches for the raq's, you may find a few. If all else fails you may want to look at perhaps upgrading to a low end celeron or P4 for about the same cost and a lot more powerful/updated server.
