I finally gathered up enough courage to catch up on all of the RaQ4 updates from Cobalt - since last August. I have been reading all of the "horror stories" over the last several months and had been "afraid" to try the Apache update - but it has now became very important to see how good my blue box is.

I re-read all of the posts I could find. I have not changed much within the box itself, so it seemed like I had a good chance to succeed. I am running 80+ virtual sites that are basically html with some cgi/perl - no dynamic, database, driven sites.

I just wanted (needed) to share this: SUCCESS! (smiling now...big-time)

I have always been a believer that a reboot on any machine will help with internal "housekeeping." So, I made sure to do a reboot after EVERY .pkg install - even those that did not require a reboot. Then I added OpenWebmail and the latest Webalizer from pkgmaster. I did this two days ago - but waited to post to make sure thinks kept running properly - so far, so good.

Now I want (need?) another RaQ...with 256 mb...$1.00 set up...obtain a failover DNS service...duplicate my content on both RaQs...hmmmmmmm
