Hi,
I've just had to have my server restored, not nice!
Anyway, I’ve had the old hard drive mounted as a slave so i can see if there's any old data i can retrieve.
I did mount -t ext2 -o ro /dev/hdb2 /old to mount the drive to the folder 'old' however when i look inside 'old' there's nothing there!
It'd be much appreciated if anyone could give me some advice on how i might be able to view the old data.
Oh, BTW the new server came with Plesk 8!
Regards,
Dave

no, you need backup files. you cannot just copy data over it wont work. ive designed some scripts for doing hard drive to hard drive copys but they are still extremly experimental and have only been used a few times, in each case have taken much time to tweak and specially not cross versions... i would just create the sites by hand if there is only a few then copy the web content over or reimage the server back to the same version as before and use your psadump's to restore everything
