ResellOne.net - At First Glance...
 • A dodgy looking domain registration provider.
 • Appears to be dubiously doing business under an assumed (DBA / fictitious) name ("ResellOne.net Co." / "ResellOne.net" / "ResellOne CO") without disclosing its legal name.
 • The 'Contact Us' and 'Billing' pages of the website read:
QUOTE
Our site is still currently in development, but please check these pages for updates and new features soon. If you require assistance now, please email support@resellone.net, or browse our FAQs.
 • The price list published on the website states, "ResellOne account activation requires a $99.00 setup fee", which contradicts the Reseller Contract [PDF] cover sheet that instructs you to "remit your non-refundable US$100.00 Reseller Activation Fee". OK it is only a dollar.. (maybe it's an EV$1-tax icon_razz.gif) but it still.
 • The formal-style Reseller Contract (which must be signed and faxed back) is entered into (by the company) under the DBA name "ResellOne.net Co.", with no mention of the legal entity/person behind the name.
Anyway, once you know that it is EV1 (unless, unlike me rolleyes.gif you already knew) then you can let your guard down and actually consider doing business with them... icon_smile.gif maybe.. icon_biggrin.gif

We are not and have not been attempting to hide the connection between ResellOne.net and Ev1Servers. Please see our announcement from 11/18/05 regarding the launch of our ResellOne forums at http://forum.ev1servers.net/showthread.php?t=59364, in the Ev1servers forums. In addition if you look up ResellOne.net at http://www.internic.com/alpha.html, you find that we are listed as" Everyones Internet, Ltd. dba resellone.net United States". So ResellOne.net has been set up as a sister company to Ev1servers.net, as we are providing different services. Please feel free to email us at domainmanager@resellone.net if you have any concerns or questions.

Main reason why the name is not a direct affiliation with EV1 is per the request of some of you. ResellOne.net was made so that EV1 or EV1Servers.net was the silent partner (so to speak) in the background. Therefore allowing you to sell, sell, sell..... icon_biggrin.gif

I would recommend you contact brooke@resellone.net if you have any questions or concerns regarding ResellOne.net.

This however did not happen as when you got your ICANN accrediation you did so using the names:

Thus the two companies are forever visible to anyone who does a whois, transfer in, etc. This is not a bad thing in my opinion as I respect and have recieved great service from both so far icon_smile.gif but I've also raised this question -- since EV1 is listed as the registrar of record or part of the registar of record (before the dba) I don't see anything "silent" about resellone and having the two seems only to raise more questions if I were a customer vs. a reseller.

My suggestion would have been to make EV1 the registrar of record and provide a higher priced retail domain name registration service from EV1 available to end-user customers. Then make resellone.net a "silent" site as you say to market the service to server owners and others linked only on webhosting sites, servercommand ev1 members section, etc. where the prices were listed only for potential resellers for whom the resellone name is appropriate. As it is, there is nothing silent about it, having two names adds some confusion, and prices are set by having them visible at a level that means service has to be provided at a loss or bundled with other for-profit services only.

Noooo that was a joke  don't "fire" Brooke! icon_sad.gif

The point of this thread was to highlight that at first glance, if you didn't know that ResellOne.net was EV1 and you didn't spend much time looking into it.. you might think it was some small "dodgy" [icon_smile.gif I like that word] untrustworthy company..

But that's not the case. It's EV1 ! cool.gif Rejoice icon_smile.gif

I agree Jeff.

I have outlined in another thread the problem with the ResellOne.net name and the scope of the identity.

Agreed. What you describe here is Solution 3 of my other thead:
"An alternative partial (happy medium) solution would be to use the real company name (Everyone's Internet, Inc./ EV1) for as much end-user/registrant visible stuff as possible."

This would probably be the easiest and most workable solution for EV1.
