I applied yesterday with one of my clients for a rapid SSL certificate through EV1. Everything went through, past the telephone interview. But I never received the SSL cert from them. I have been through this same process maybe a dozen times without problem.
So I called Geo Trust this morning and they told me "the request had been flagged for possible fraud, by their filters" and they would check it out when they got to it. I asked how long it would take for them to resolve this and they told me the request was in the que and they would get to it when they could. So I called my client and reported to them what they had said. The client was furious and very upset with me because it cast doubt on me.
I called GeoTrust later today, about 2:00 pm CST and they said that they would get to it right away. Six hours later still no cert and one very upset client.
Has anyone ever had a problem like this before and if so how did you get it resloved.

I will pass this information along and see if we can find out about this. I know there are various verification systems in place however I am not certain about what part may have caught this transaction at this time.

Thanks for trying to do something. The real problem is the fact that they have not done anything after making false accusations. I can understand them having filters that alert. But if this ever happens then they should verify the data immediately. It's not hard to verify all the data on a request for a cert. A phone call and five minutes doing Whois look ups should tell them all they need to know.
But their lack of responsiveness has cast a shadow on my reputation with my client. Because of this I am very angry with GeoTrust.
About 36 hour have gone by since we applied for the cert, this is ridiculous. The only reason I still have a client is the fact that I have been working with them for seven years. But everything I have done in the past can go down the drain in a few minutes.

I have a contact at GeoTrust who is ready to fix your issue immediately, and is extremely sorry about the problems you have experienced in placing this order. I just need to know what fully qualified domain you were purchasing the certificate for so he can look up the order.

I sent you an email with the information on it and an instant message. Just to update you still no certificate. Right away to this company appears to be something different than what "right away" means to me.
Thanks
