I have just recently tried everything to move my server content from a VPS Plesk (7.1.2) server to a dedicated Plesk (7.5.4) server using the Migration Manager and found that I have been getting this error: :confused:

Unable to create a description for the migrated objects:
Error during dump retrieval
Lost connection with the remote host

I have tried moving one site at a time, one client at a time, ALL and even stumped EV1 support as they tried to mess with the firewall and SSH into the server and mess with things there too.

Then I had a brain wave, what would happen if I ‘disabled’ the accounts that I wanted to move?... Tried it, and guess what it worked! :eek: (3 second disco dance).

So it just goes to show that it’s the simple answers that tend to slip through our grasp of understanding…

Migrating from Plesk to Plesk? Try disabling the account service of the sites you’re migrating first.

What i would do is this.

upgrade the plesk 7.1.x to latest 7.1.7 then to 7.5

Then run a backup of the old server, and restore to the new server.

Will be the easiest way really, as the migration manager is quite a pain at times.
