Full Version: How do I enable SpamAssassin in Plesk?
The Planet Forums > Control Panels > Plesk

I already posted this question at Swsofts (Plesks developer) website without luck. Possible it's something configured wrong on my server but - all sites on all servers on two different Virtuozzo servers? Anyone else seen anything like this?

Domains -> (domain) -> mail -> (mailuser) -> SpamAssassin is OFF and not hyperlinked, i.e. can't be set ON.

I have Virtuozzo/Plesk-Premier license and have installed psa-spamassassin and spamassassin modules via VZMC.

The license clearly says that spamassassin is enabled.

Services spamassassin and psa-spamassassin are running.

Server -> Spamassassin has been ticked for both "Server wide settings" and "Personal settings" (Not very clear, logically I'd say these two options ought to be mutually exclusive yet there are two checkboxes? I've tried various combinations, seems not to change the issue)

Spamassassin is available to client and domain insofar there is any switch to enable it with.

I'm aware it might be a better idea not to use SA altogether but i have a client who wants it so I need to provide it.

in the mail prefrence have you set enable spamassassin?

I'm not sure what you mean.

Neither
Server -> Mail -> Preferences
nor
Domains -> (domain) -> Mail -> Preference
have any "enable spamassassin" option.

First place to enable spamassassin is:

Server > Spamassassin > Serverwide & Personal settings.

Second place to enable spamassassin:

Clients > Client Name > Domain Name > Mail > Mail User > Mailbox Management > Enable Spam Filtering

First place: Is enabled, which you will see if you read my first post.

Second place: Is the problem. I can't enable it there as it's not a hyperlink. Also this explained in first post.

There is not a hyper link, it is only a check box. Follow the path listed for the client and you should see a check-box at the bottom.

If that box is greyed out and unelectable.. then issues are elsewhere.

OMG - you are right. That was well hidden.

I was on the page

Clients > Client Name > Domain Name > Mail > Mail User

On this page is a "table" with 7 entries:
QUOTE
Control panel access   On   Mailbox   On
Redirect  Off  Autoresponders  Off
Mail group  Off  SpamAssassin  Off
Antivirus mail checking  Incoming and outgoing mail

All off these allow changing by clicking on the on/off hyperlink - EXCEPT Spamassassin. Never though about having to go into "Mailbox Management" for this.

Thanks much! EV1 Forum rocks!
