Hello,

So every year I have the painful task of renewing my ssl cert through Geotrust. As I learned last year a renewal is really just a new cert anyway. But I've muddled through that extra confusion.

Each year I have had a little help doing this through Plesk 6.0 but this year I am totally alone. I just renewed my certificate and created the csr and did all the work under Domain Management (rockandrollhosting.com) and the security seems enabled (or will be when I change to an exclusive ip setting). Now I realize I should of done this under the Server Management section of Plesk because of the port. Or am I wrong? Currently my old cert hasn't expired and I'm scared to death to touch this and try to use the new one. Basically all i need is for my users login to be protected. That urls is https://www.rockandrollhosting.com:8443.

So can one cert cover both https://www.rockandrollhosting.com and https://www.rockandrollhosting.com:8443 or what? This is crazy! Any advice is more than welcome!

yes it can in plesk, just install that same cert into the psa admin for it and it will work.

Okay, so I thought I was golden here. I switched the IP to an exclusive one in the domain setup for rockandrollhosting.com since it was being shared which has in turn taken my site offline! Yikes! The reason I did this was to be able to choose the cert in the pop up menu but it wasn't even available like it said it would be in the Help section. Right now only "default certificate" is listed. I'm restarting my server in hopes for this to be mended.

Also I have 4 certs listed in the psa server admin section. How do I know which one is currently being used and how do I switch to the new one without any problems occuring?

Thanks for the help. I'm freaking out!

Well the restart fixed things and my site is back online. Thank god. Did my site go down because it needed time to propagate to the new IP?

Also my domain is the name server name for the whole server so this is all making me worry. Any advice would be highly appreciated.
