Full Version: Subdomains as dedicated IP sites?

I've been using Plesk off and on for about 4 years, but I've never run into this situation before.

I have a domain, it's not on the plesk box. But I need to run a subdomain as a dedicated IP site because I'll need to put a cert on it.

I've tried putting the whole site as the subdomain. eg: www [checkbox] secure.mydomain.com. It completes the setup, but the site doesn't work. At all.

So I'm not sure how to manage this. I've been told that you're not suppose to setup a subdomain as a dedicated site by itself which makes no sense, but I've had support tell me that created errors on the server.

Anyway, the simplicity: I need to create a subdomain and have it dedicated to an IP without using the domain itself for hosting. Just the sub.

Any suggestions?

I am doing this for 3 months for blogs on zaxaz.com. First create the account for third level domain and add an A record for that domain in second level domain account.

I think who tell this don't know about what domain is.
