Majorly disappointed with EV1 regarding this whole domain business. We had about 30 names registered with the old service and were more than happy. Then it disappears and suddenly we're managing domains with two different companies, which was and still is a pain. Poor communication about when the "new system" will be online. Then it comes along, and it's a service that feels totally seperate from EV1, plus it costs $99 to get setup with, and the domain prices are the same as they were before.

Me = Unhappy. I will continue to renew my domains with the old service until they all disappear over time. I won't sign up for Resellone because I feel like you guys pulled the plug on me, promised something "soon", never told "me" about the new service, and then ask me for $99 to start using the new and improved service (which for the way I'd use it, is exactly the same). I like EV1, but I didn't like this domain business very much at all.

I'm done ranting. Whew.

There are some features already in place that make ResellOne a significant improvement if you have even a couple dozen domains. For example, you can set domains to auto-renew which you couldn't do with the old ev1 domains. You can register domains for customers and set their email as the domain contact without worrying that your domain account will be compromised since you can now put those domains in their own domain account but still keep track of/renew/etc. them from the RWI. Even manual renewal is much much much faster - have not tried a batch renewal yet since I've only had domains at ResellOne for a few months now, but that is also a standard feature at the top.

When they get the API up and running, it will be even better.

I apologize that you are disappointed, we are able to process manual orders through Ev1servers domain accounts, and for server clients as well. Please email support@resellone.net so that we can discuss the reseller program with you. Your business is very important to us, and we are working very hard to meet the needs of both our Ev1servers domain clients as well as our Resellone.net account holders. While it is true that we have yet to get the API documentation out, we are processing bulk transfers for our resellers, so that they can move their domains from their Ev1servers domain accounts into their reseller accounts. Please email us directly so that we can address your specific concerns.

The API is already ready from a HRS System Instance perspective, meaning that EV1-ResellOne HRS server is waiting at https://resellers.resellone.net:52443 for any API scripts to make API calls either from you the resellers, it will require pointing to another server, and some other minor credential adjustments. The API user guide is located here: http://www.resellone.net/support/pdf...ne_api_293.pdf

I'll add that I'm not thrilled about this either. I have no interest in selling domains, it's not my business, but I do want to keep my own domains and any future domain buys with ev1, because of the price and because I trust them as a company. I don't even mind prepaying a grand given the low price for domains, but having to sign and send you a 27 page agreement for the privilege of learning a new user interface geared towards resellers, and one which you don't even have an active demo on, doesn't really leave me all that happy.

Why wasn't a simpler option offered for current active ev1 customers? I think many or maybe most of us weren't interested in selling domains either. And it would have been next to no effort on your part in your setting up a simpler option for those of us who really don't have the time to get into something like this.
Jeff
The resellone RWI user interface is very very simple. Aesthetically it may look a bit "old fashioned" but this allows you to register, view all or search, renew, and see all financial information summary - it works great. And the resellone domain management interface is exactly the same as the domains.ev1servers.net domain management section that you're used to (where you modify contacts, set nameservers, etc.)

You do not have to send us 27 pages there are only 2 pages as stated in the front page of the contract agreement "Fax page 12 of the Agreement plus the cover page to: +1.7135545228". The RWI (Reseller web interface) is what you would use to manage your domains (even without reselling them), and this interface allows more control and functionality. If you have specific questions please email us at support@resellone.net and we will be happy to answer your questions.

WHAT!? ResellOne = EV1 ?!?

I knew of ResellOne, looked at the website a couple times and thought they looked dodgy.
Also heard quite alot of bad stuff about them mad.gif

And now I discover they are EV1
Maybe it's just me, I have been somewhat out of the loop lately

Company Name: ResellOne.net Co.

Why is EV1 detaching itself from ResellOne so much?

Hello Kristian,

I apologize that this has come as a surprise to you. We are not and have not been attempting to hide the connection between ResellOne.net and Ev1Servers. Please see our announcement from 11/18/05 regarding the launch of our ResellOne forums at http://forum.ev1servers.net/showthread.php?t=59364, in the Ev1servers forums. In addition if you look up ResellOne.net at http://www.internic.com/alpha.html, you find that we are listed as" Everyones Internet, Ltd. dba resellone.net United States". So ResellOne.net has been set up as a sister company to Ev1servers.net, as we are providing different services. Please feel free to email us at domainmanager@resellone.net if you have any questions.
