i would be willing to buy cpanel or even plesk again on the new server what is the best way to do this without losing any data? such as customer info etc. etc..

zac2003,

If you are moving from Plesk to Plesk, there are backup and restore tools that come with Plesk. You can find out more about them at the plesk website. They have been a standard part of the product for a while so they should be pretty solid.

If you are trying to move from Plesk to something else (like CPanel), I think you are out of luck in terms of automation. Each control panel uses its own proprietary data representations and tools. You'll probably need to move them by hand. This is what I had to go through moving from a reseller to RS. It's a pain, but quite doable.

BTW, why exactly are you moving? Are you unhappy with the server? with Plesk? Any specific issues you ran into?

I'm curious because I have the same setup as you (Duron + Plesk) and I'm wondering why you are dissatisfied with it, apart from the fact that RS now offers much better hardware for almost the same price (*sigh*).

lol if you saw my trouble ticket page you would see why

http://www.zdwebhosting.com/uptime.php tell me my server has any reason to crash with those loads?

http://www.zdwebhosting.com/mrtg

almost idle and its crashed after 60 days then 45 then 15 2 times then 8 and now it crashed 2 times in a day !!!

i am so sick of these servers.

Hmmm...

I wish I could help more. My box has been running pretty stable for over 2 months now (knock on wood). I wonder if you might have some hardware or memory issues on your box?

It is interesting looking at your mrtg outputs for uptime. The weekly graph is confusing. It says "Uptime (sec)" on the Y axis, but the gradations are in 160 K increments? Strange.

I do hope that you figure out what is going on, not only for your own sanity but also it might help the rest of us with similar boxes to understand some of the potential problems.

Do keep us informed and keep at it!

(*encouraging smile*)

what logs should i look @ for errors of why it would crash?

and i plan to leave rackshack i guess since i can't get any support from them and they wont even upgrade my server if i pay them.

and they checked my ram said it tested ok but i still believe its somthing to do with the hardware.
