I have a site that is running on a load balanced server- the site has phpbb on it as well as other scripts that use sendmail for various functions namely registration verifications. I am having a big problem with EV1 setup with DNS and I thought I would post if anyone else runs into this problem. I have a virtual IP, and the 2 servers IP. mail/ IMAP is configured on server 2.

Now when someone registers on the site most IPs in the world block the mail as spam because the DNS says that the server is the virtual IP and not server 1 IP.

450 Client host rejected: cannot find your hostname
Deferred: 450 Client host rejected: cannot find your hostname

I called Ev1 tech support and they had to force the reverse DNS for the 2 ips but I am still getting this error. What am I doing wrong? :confused:

It should be fine; make sure that the reverse DNS for all three IPS is set to your hostname.

If you post your hostname and IPs here (or pm them) I can try to make sure that this is all set up correctly.

Thanks alex. The guys at tech support were able to do that. I also made every script on the site use smtpsend function from the one server configured for mail rather then the php mail function on either server and that seemed to alleviate a lot of the problems as well.
