I recently got an VPS and the mySQL and it has an older version of mySQL (3.23.58) on it, which is an issue since it's not compatible of vB I'm using, which is 3.5.3. I tried following the tutorial on this mboard "Upgrade PHP to 4.3.10 and mySQL to 4.02 without breaking plesk" but had no luck. Is it something I should lodge a support ticket for to get the mySQL upgraded since I'm using a VPS? Thanks.
Jeff
It might help if you could elaborate about what specifically went wrong?

When I type "yum" I get the command not found error and I configured the yum.conf file as per the thread using the updated info from the turtle site.

Yeah the howto you refer to is missing a step between steps 1 and 2: Install the yum rpm you just downloaded.

rpm -Uvh yum*rpm

I noticed there's also "up2date." How would I update mysQL using that?
