hi,

I cant seem to access urchin from cpanel..I have set the log perms to 644 in whm, turned on direct linking in urchin admin, ran scripts/statsonce etc I have added a profile in urchin admin and it works from there but not via cpanel, also ran inspector script [gave -->Missing File: /usr/local/urchin/data/conf/uconf.log error only], restarted the webserver.. So what is the problem?? is it about config access if so how can I fix it?

thanks
Myce
I have the same problem. All 200+ sites on my server have been displaying "Unable to access configuration or direct linking is off" for several days, but it is "on". There is a message on the cPanel forum (http://forums.cpanel.net/showthread.php?t=...ighlight=urchin) about a symbollic links problem in the "Current" versions of WHM, so I tried to downgrade to the "Release" version, but I'm getting pages of errors as follows:

The Urchin error started occuring after an overnight, cPanel auto-update (i.e. Urchin was working before the update, and was broken after the update). I tried running: /usr/local/urchin/util/inspector and got permissions errors, which I fixed, but cPanel just changes them back again!

I am re-running the downgrade to "Release" again to see if it will resolve the problem. I'll post the results when it finishes.

well I have EDGE release but I'll try to downgrade too..maybe it works only on RELEASE version and something is borked afterwards and carried to the newer releases..

I had two perm. errors on some stuff i cant recall but I chown them for nobody and they got ok..

thanks

ok downgrading, then chmoding according to inspector and then turning on the option for direct linking in admin panel then running runscriptsonce fixed it.. icon_biggrin.gif

My downgrade is still running, still stalling on the wget timeouts mentioned above. Wonder why you guys can downgrade and I can't seem to get beyond the timeouts?

2nd downgrade to "Release" finally finished! Urchin now working, but I had to run /scripts/runweblogs for domains that stopped accumulating Urchin stats on 11/29. I tried running /scripts/runstatsonce, but it did NOT catch-up the Urchin stats.

if you have manually added profiles in admin panel remove them then run runscriptsonce..
