Hi all,

I have a domain registred at EV1; i lost domain username/password to admin it.
The e-mail which i used to register the domain i dont have it anymore (unable to check messages because now it belongs to a unknow guy, its a hotmail free e-mail).

Is there any way to recover the username/password to admin the domain again?

If is there no way, how long do i have to wait for domain expiration and when will i be able to register it again?

The domain was valid until 12 november.

Any help will be apreciated.

Thank you all in advance.

RQC.

If it expired on Nov 12, it should still be in the redemption stage. EV1 could get it back out for you, but it'll cost quite a bit more (just like any registrar). I've heard prices of anywhere from $60 to $200, depending on the registrar... but I don't think there's been any mention of what EV1 charges.

As far as changing the admin e-mail, have you e-mailed EV1? They may be able to get in and change it for you.

Your chances of the domain getting dropped to where you could re-register it are also pretty slim. You could look into using SnapNames or another backorder service to try and grab it... but that will cost a bit of money as well, though possibly less than redemption. (But you're not guaranteed to get the name, and in some cases, you lose your money regardless of whether you get the name or not.)

I guess the question is how important the domain is to you.

Please email domains@ev1servers.net. We can send you a link to a form that you will send to Tucows/OpenSRS, proving you are the admin of the domain, to have the admin contact email address changed. Once that email address is changed, we can send the username and password to the new email address.

If your domain expired November 12th it should actually still be in the expiration period. The domain will not go into redemption until it has been expired for 40 days. This time period is shorter at most registrars, but Tucows has one of the longest grace periods in the industry.

Also, even though the information is not necessary in this case, our redemption fee is quite low, just $100, plus the cost of renewal for a total of $106.49.
