Hi,

I've got a problem with one of my e-mail accounts.
Since a few days the user can't receive new messages. The error in the exim log and in the bounces is:

== user@domain.tld R=virtual_aliases_nostar defer (-17): error in redirect data: no local part in "@domain.tld"

Other users on the same domain can receive mail just fine. I have already deleted and recreated the account, but I'm stuck. Googling only found a possible explanation for this problem being that a forward includes a colon in the address, but this is not the case.

Anyone else knows how to fix this?

I managed to fix it, but I'm still puzzled over how this error originated.

It turns out that the /etc/valiases/domain.tld was damaged.

It had a forward in the form of:

user@domain.tld: @domain.tld

Deleting that line fixed it. How it got there? I don't know...
