the NIC is working on 10mbit half duplex mode on my server, the transfer rate is very slow. I'm able to set it to 10mbit full duplex, but i can't set it to 100mbit full duplex when i execute the command:
ethtool -s eth0 speed 100 duplex full autoneg off
It just went dead, have to reboot the server, have tried contact support, but they didn't do anything about it. so please help.

[root@plain root]# mii-tool
eth0: autonegotiation failed, link ok

nvm, support told me my server is on 10mbit unmetered...strange, my order should be 1000g/m transfer.
eth00
If you think it is wrong contact customer service. The 10mbit unmetered server is a lot more expensive and ev1 would be more then happy to put it back to 100mbit metered. For most people that are hosting websites the 1000-2000Gb on most servers is more then enough.

I know that this can happen from time to time. If you will contact customercare@ev1servers.net with your account information we can help resolve this issue for you.

if i got 10mbit unmetered, and was billed for the other plan, i might not mention anything :0

It will end up getting noticed by networking. It would be a better idea to work with us to transition you over to a normal 100mbps subnet icon_smile.gif

We're here to help.

mii-tool is usually not much help these days. The command ethtool is much better.

try:

ethtool eth0

You'll get a lot more info about your interface. But, I really wouldn't mess with those settings without talking to EV1.
