I don't use this service at all but my Server > Services Management shows that this service is running. I can't stop it from the GUI as the icons are disabled. Does anybody know if Plesk itself uses this database? If not, then how do I disable / stop this service from command line?

Thanks.

I'm also interested in this one. I tryed running:
CODE
[root@www root]# /usr/bin/pg_ctl --help

pg_ctl: cannot be run as root

Please log in (using, e.g., "su") as the (unprivileged) user that will

own the server process.

But i never defined a password for the "postgresql" user (does that one exists?), so it's a bit difficult to "su" to it icon_smile.gif

Try the Plesk CP password...

That works, a bit more memory free for the server icon_smile.gif

plesk doesnt use the postgresql database, plesk uses a mysql database. try using 'chkconfig' to turn off pgsql..
