Not exactly sure Carlos. We've put in a request to SW-Soft for more information, and we'll update this thread when we hear back from them. We have a theory, but I don't want to steer anyone in the wrong direction.

Thanks!

I got mine to work via the ppanel login license management.

I still need to get my server upgraded to the current release of vz
SW-Ray
After upgrading to 2.6.1 (yeah, I know, a little behind icon_razz.gif), I was able to install the new license from Power Panel.

I'm not finding any license management section in my power panel so I'm not sure where you updated your license.

Perhaps you did if via SSH into the box?

David

You must login to your power panel as vzagent0 user to be able to manage the license

You can also just copy the license in:
/etc/hspc/licenses/

Make sure it is named vzcplicense

VZ, VZMC, VZCC, VZPP, VZCP and more alphabet soup?

What are all these things then?

VPS - Virtuozzo Personal (or Private or Physical) Server.

VZ -The pet name for a virtual server on a VPS.

VZMC - The VZ Management Console is a PC based client used to create and manage the VZ's.

VZCC - The VZ C? Console (Someone fill in the blanks). Basically a web based version of the VZMC.

VZPP - The VZ Power Panel. This is like an extended Plesk CP, allowing the VZ owner to manage his VZ.

VZCP - I don't know. Someone fill in the blanks.

Where am I going with all this?

Well I am just finding out I lost control to my VPS server. Until today I mistakenly assumed the VZPP was the VZCC and the VZCC was the VZMC (confused yet?) and applied the offered VZPP license in assumption it was for the VZCC and would allow me to continously manage my VPS.

So now what? We have to pay for VZ licenses and now in additiona we also have to pay for a license for the software to use it? What will be next?

More importantly, how do I now get access to my VPS?

VZCP - Virtuozzo Control Panel. This a web based interface that has been deprecated by the VZCC.

VZCC - I am not sure what the additional C stands for, but I will find out.

VZ - is the "pet" name for a Virtual environment "VE" on a VPS. We tend to refer to a VE as a VZ becuase the command line tends to use VZ in place of VE. For instance the vzlist give a list of the VEs in a system and their status. vzctl is used to modify and configure VEs.

Thanks for the definitions, Curtis. It helps communicating knowing the correct terms icon_smile.gif

I'm just realizing I can still use the VZMC interface. Just like I prefer using webmail over some Thunderbird/Outlook client I prefer VZCC over VZMC, but I guess something is better than nothing icon_smile.gif

Would appreciate clarification on the licensing issue though. I really don't understand why a web interface such as VZCC should be a premium license when VZMC isn't.
Cranky
VZ actually is a short version of Virtuozzo, not another name for a Virtual Environment. VZMC is an additional fee usually, but EV1 must have struck a deal to get that instead of VZCC.
