I'm having a problem with 3 email accounts on a few of my domains (on the same Cpanel server).

What happens is their Outlook will download hundreds of the same (single) message over and over.. They will get it hundreds of times. This is not happening to most of my users, but just these 3 accounts (not even other accounts on the same domains).

When I check their accounts through webmail, I can often find a very old email (sometimes with an improper date -- missing month/etc) that outlook is not removing.

Does anyone know what causes this or have they had this problem and found a solution?

I haven't heard of that being a cpanel issue offhand (although it could be). My suspicion is that they're using a version of Outlook that has the default "leave read mail on the server for X days then delete it" turned on. If they turn that off, I bet the problem goes away as well. I've seen Outlook cause all kinds of mailspool corruption when it's got this option turned on.

I suspected that myself, but I have dozens of users (including me) that leave messages on the server for X number of days without ever having this problem. However, a few users seem to suffer from it repeatedly. Maybe I'll check their version of Outlook.
