How do you do a server wide backup with the new psa-bu in plesk 7.1.7?

We want to create an old server wide backup like psadump -f did.

I'm not sure I'm understanding the question Gravity. The psadump works pretty much the same as it always has.

One thing... Starting with Reloaded, Plesk includes the psa-bu script with the PSA distribution, rather than making you have to go get it from their site. It doesn't install automatically by itself though, you have to run the RPM to install the backup script. Could that be the problem you've run into?

You can find the backup rpm in the /opt/bu/ directory where your PSA install files were downloaded. You should be able to find the one you're looking for by doing a [b]locate psa-bu-7.1.7

HTH, but I'm not sure if it will or not.

psa-bu ??
It shows it is installed. I did install it, however it is not found.
rpm -qa | grep psa-bu.

How on earth do you use psa-bu? Is psa-bu the backup feature that is in the control panel? This is the only backup feature that we see and that is only for a specific domain and does not serve the purpose psadump did.

psadump is still present on the system but from what we understood psadump was not compatible with the new 7.1.7. Is this correct or is psadump still the same as it always was?

psa-bu is just the name of the rpm.

You can use psadump and psarestore exactly as you did before. No need to change any of the commands as long as the backup utilities are installed.

The manual for Plesk 7.1.x backup/restore utilities is located here in case you need it.
