Hello,
I'm using Urchin 5.
From 2 weeks I'm trying to run a task but it doesn't work in urchin.
I add a new profile with all necessary options and then I add
the schedule each week (I click update) and then I click
on "Run now" (as always) after that pop-ups the window
with the progress bar .. but the progress bar remain on 0%.
I've the same problem with older accounts (also for my own website)
and cannot the task don't run even if I wait around 4 hours.
Another problem that I've noticed 3 minutes ago is that I cannot
add a filter
If someone can help me out.
I've got no reply from urchin support.
Thank you.
Gerardo.

Make sure urchins task scheduler is running, run urchinctl restart in the bin dir in your urchin dir then try again.

James, the problem described happens when you click Run Now -- it has nothing to do with the scheduler.
I've got the same problem - Urchin running fine for months, until about 5 days ago, now suddenly refuses to generate reports (and yes, all of the urchind and urchinwebd threads are running and yes, I've run urchinctl restart).

FWIW, I was able to run the report manually with:
/usr/local/urchin/bin/urchin -p profilename
This worked just fine. I also found that the schedule had somehow reset itself to "Never" - no idea how/why this would have happened all of a sudden, but these steps seem to have fixed it.

I take it back. That got the report to run once, but did not fix the problem that reports are no longer being run automatically daily, and can't be "Run Now" from the web interface. Those two things are still broken. Grrrrr....

try these commands to see if its actually running, I noticed if I reboot the server urchin schedular does NOT restart on its own, GPAN wrote a script for me to have it restart on reboot, try
usr/local/urchin/bin (then ./urchinctl status) see if its running, if not
to restart (from bin directory) ./urchinctl start)

The the popup box is sitting there doing nothing it probably cannot read your log files. What kind of server is this? If its cpanel have to make sure all /domlogs are chmod 0644 and you can set this in WHM.

So, if:
./urchinctl status
reports that urchin is running
and
I can run reports manually with:
/usr/local/urchin/bin/urchin -p profile.name
and
All logs in /usr/local/apache/domlogs are 644
and the value in WHM/Tweak Settings for
Chmod value for raw apache log files is 644
BUT
Daily schedule does not run
I can't run reports from the web interface (popup box just sits there)
What else can I try to get the schedule running again?
Thanks,
Scot

Urchin may be running but what about the Urchin Scheduler? If thats not running, forget getting stats. Thats why Urchin Monitor was created!

Hi Aussie -
Yes, the monitor is running. Since running stats manually the other day, I actually am getting daily reports again. I've seen Urchin break like this a few times now. It stops, then I run a report manually, and it works again ... for a while, then fails mysteriously again. Ah well. I'll just keep an eye on it, and may set up a cron job to run a report manually at intervals to give it a kick.
Wonder how the Google acquisition of Urchin will change things...

I saw similar thing happening due to corrupt logfiles. Make sure your rotate scripts do not run at the same time Urchin is running on those logs.
Run the sanitizer script with all the options on your Urchin logs, I bet you're going to find errors in there. Also make sure your apache log files are readable and aren't corrupted.
