Hi All,

There is a major problem on one of my linux VPS. All of sudden it shows the mail boxes empty and old passwords starts working. Even the root passwords. All the new accounts (domains and users) added in last few days also disappears. And after some time eveything comes back to normal. I have tried everything and even upgraded to the latest cpanel release but nothing helped.

Please advise its a very serioys issue.

Sounds like something related to the VPS. for what you say sounds like someone issue a restore from a old backup in your account.

Specialy for what you say about old passwords and empty mail boxes. Sure your vps is working correctly?

I have spoken to the DC and they said though they take the backup daily but nothing is being restored autometically.

How can i check something like autometic restore working at my server level or not.

Go inside your vps powerpanel, and see if there any kind of cron about it.
