Full Version: Does having a lot of TIME_WAITS bad?

Got a new server and I run a couple of forums on it with about only 50 users online. I have never seen this many TIME_WAITS but the server is running on very little load so I am not worried about it, just wondering why.

not really if it's not hogging your CPU

maybe you could lower your wait_timeout setting, remember it's set at /etc/my.cnf and it's expressed in seconds
