What does the Cpanel Cluster Management do exactly? Does it sync cpanel/whm or everything including the web root ie /home /home2 etc.
So if I used this would I not need any 3rd party software like rsync or unison.
All it says is ... " Notes: Synchronize Changes: All changes made on this server will be replicated to the other server in the cluster. Changes made on the other server will not be replicated to this server unless Synchronize Changes is selected on that server as well.
Standalone: All changes made on this server will not affect the other server in the cluster."

The clustering in cpanel is only for DNS clustering and thats it.

So both servers will have the same DNS records?

Be aware that the cpanel dns cluster is not the best piece of software and can be buggy at times. You have to constantly watch it for problems.

Ewww, this topic has that old thread smell.
BUT, can anyone provide me with a little more information on this?
We want our hosters (clients) to be able to point their domains to the same nameservers, even when they're on different servers. Would this be the way do accomplish that?

It works great for me. I haven't run into a problem yet with cpanel dns clustering, though I only have 100 domains on my two servers and don't change dns that often, so maybe I just don't stress it as much as others. I started off with a cpanel server and dns-only vps in a cluster a couple years ago. Then added a second new server. Removed the vps. Then added a third server. Then removed the first server. All seamlessly and without a glitch

I find the cpanel dns cluster function great.

Yeah, after I posted that reply, I decided to just dive right into it and try it.
It works great! cPanel keeps everything synchronized very nicely, and when I went in to each of the boxes to whitelist each other, cPanel had already done it itself!
