As per my knowledge you get a switched loadbalancer. But with racks you get a dedicated hardware loadbalancer.I dont remember the brand name but they r good. You get full control of loadbalancer. Any kind of service can be clustered. We used port 3306 for loadbalancing mysql DB.
rohit, do you use any control panel? i mean, I have been researching and its not an easy task to replicate the databases when using lbc and a CP.
I am about to get a LBC solution and i want to use Plesk on it, but it doesnt seems to be a task that can be performed easily as plesk itself uses mysql, and the real problem i have is that plesk "nativelly" doesnt support LB.
I would love to know if there is any workarround or solution to this that ensures me at least that i can have all the data and db's up without having problems of data corruption in what databases concerns, as again the control panel i want to use uses mysql.
I have been thinking a lot on the posibility to have mysql runing as master-slave, where both servers uses lets say Server1 as the master mysql database server, and it replicates to server 2 every XX segs, and in the case of any failure, Server2 asumes the control until Server1 comes back.
Please if you have any workarround, please share it.
