Anyone out there know how one of these works?

I need urgent help with one issue.

I seem unable to block incoming packets from a bad IP address. In PACKET FILTERING, under Customer Firewall Rules, I've added the following line (IP obscured)
INPUT -A iptables -s xx.xx.xx.xx -j DROP

I've also added a IP address from another DSL account.

Incoming packets from both IP's are being received and not dropped.

The card itself is working fine.

The option selected under Customer Firewall Rules is 'Custom firewall rules are in addition to builtin rules'. I've also tried the above rule above and below the other rules.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

Read that! Still no joy.

Also tried this format which didn't work:
iptables -I INPUT -j DROP -s XX.XX.XX.XX
