I am used to Ensim and am starting to try and get used to Plesk and have run across something i need a little help with.
I am trying to install a program which needs a cgi script run when an e-mail is sent to a certain e-mail account. On Ensim (sendmail) i know you can edit the aliases file for a domain and add something like "|/path/to/cgi/script" and it will run that program when an e-mail is sent to that account. How can I accomplish this in Plesk (qmail).
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi Cyberhawk,
The file you're looking for will be /var/qmail/mailnames/domain.com/address/.qmail
Where domain.com is the domain name in question and address is the part of the email address before the @ symbol. If you CD your way over there, you'll need to ls -al to see the .qmail file. That's the one you want to edit.

Thanks for the reply.
Is there some sort of program i need to run to get this all to work after i add an entry (sendmail it is newaliases) or will this just work?

Hard to say without seeing the script. However as a general rule it will probably work straight away since sendmail is aliased to qmail. No way to tell for sure except to give it a try and see what happens.

I guess im not doing something right. Im just trying to get perlbill installed and get the mail working with it. It does not seem to be running the cgi script when mail is being sent to it. I have no idea what i am doing wrong.
Thanks for the help though...

hmm... I've never used PerlBill personally, so probably not going to be much help.
Have you tried searching or asking on the logicnow.com forums? I just did a search via Google and found a thread there with the a title of "How to setup email piping on Qmail" but their forum required a username/password to read the thread. Sounds like exactly what you're looking for.
FYI, my Google search that pulled it up was for "perlbill qmail plesk" w/o the quotes.
