Hello,
We have a site setup on the windows 2003 Server (ENSIM) using ASP that uses a MS Access MDB file on the same server. That works without problems. But they want to be able to access the MDB Access file using a frontend application from their local system.

We tried putting the MDB file on a password protected directory that can be accessed with a URL from the web browser. When you put it in the browser it opens up MS Access and begins downloading the MDB file. But then gives an error about not being on a trusted network or something.

Someone recommended this process:
Internet Synchronization with the Microsoft Jet Database Engine: A Technical Overview

Can anybody recommend what would be best?
Thanks
Jerry

I would go ahead and just access it on the server, a simple application like tightvnc would help.

Cheers

Wouldn't this just be like using Remote Desktop?

I did offer that but the customer felt it would be to bandwidth intensive on their local networks which is not the case and they felt it would put to much reliance on just one instance of the MDB file (in case of data loss and such).
