Full Version: Setting up squirrelmail

Anyone have issues with squirrelmail on a cluster setup? Well...I have.

For example, I have 6 domains, with idetical setups and data on both servers. I have all the DNS pointers going to the virtual IP...EXCEPT mail.domainname.com...which points to one of the server's IP's where the users are set up. Sound ok so far?

THe problem is that 3 of the domains work fine, the other 3 don't. I run dnsreport.com and get a couple different errors in the mail section:

One error for a specific domain is:
"MAIL SERVER HOST NAME IN GREETING:
WARNING: One or more of your mailservers may be claiming to be a host other than what it really is (the SMTP greeting should be a 3-digit code, followed by a space or a dash, then the host name). This probably won't cause any harm, but may be a technical violation of RFC821 4.3 (and RFC2821 4.3.1).

mail.softail.com claims to be host srv1.sbolinc.com."

On one of the domains that works fine, this space says:
"OK: All of your mailservers have their host name in the greeting:

mail.sbolinc.com: 220 srv1.sbolinc.com ESMTP Sendmail 8.12.10/8.12.10; Wed, 5 Jan 2005 23:00:39 -0600 "

Any help or insight would be appreciated.

Sorry, I have not checked this forum for a week or so. Are you still having this problem?

If so can you post details of the domains that work and the domains that do not work. Details about your IP's (loadbalancers and direct) would also help.
