Can someone tell me what is this for? I keep getting erros on the logs every 5 minutes icon_sad.gif
CODE
Dec 27 01:26:35 plain modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module char-major-10-224

Dec 27 01:26:35 plain modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module char-major-10-224

I have renamed the /sbin/modprobe file to modprobe_old, but now I get this:

CODE
Dec 27 01:40:00 plain kernel: kmod: failed to exec /sbin/modprobe -s -k char-major-10-224, errno = 2

Anyone has any ideas?

Thanks

This is RHEL Linux Audit System (LAuS). You can start it (service audit start), (re)install it (in case it's broken) or just disable it:

edit /etc/modules.conf and add:

alias char-major-10-224 off

and after that, if you now get messages like: "Note: /etc/modules.conf is more recent
than /lib/modules/yourkernel/modules.dep" then do:

touch "/lib/modules/yourkernel/modules.dep"

Thanks, that fixed the problem.
