Should I worry abt the error given by the install of package caching-nameserver???

Also I tried start all services and got an error on named!!:

Not sure about Plesk, but caching-nameserver should be added to excluded rpm's on Ensim for this very reason, so perhaps same applies here. Have you enabled rollbacks in up2date?

Ok, will add it to avoid future problems, I've finaly solved by restoring config from named.conf.rpmsave on /var/ direcotory.

on my RHE3 /plesk they have skiped by itself... It apear to not be the same config file..

The problem is that I forced the update, as well as for bind.

By the way... what is caching-nameserver for?? will it cause problems to my nameserver? ... after restored the named.conf...

I dont think, if you have put back a recent backup you have all should be fine, do a psa stopall then startall if all fine i dont think you will see a problem..

The way i understand caching-nameserver is used to convert name=IP to resolve.. But i din't know very mutch more.. May be other can respond better than me icon_smile.gif
