I see a few people installing PHP 5.0.x on RHEL 3.
Has anybody had problems with PHP 5 on RHEL 3 and Ensim 4.0.2?

You should install only already existing rpms, that's upgrading what you already have installed
You can get the needed files for these dependencies from
http://sourceforge.net/projects/mcrypt

Check your PHP 5 ini file and see where it's loading its extensions from. It shouldn't be loading it from the PHP4 extension directory. It should be loading it from /usr/lib/php5/. Again check your /etc/php.ini file and look for the line that has:
extension_dir = /usr/lib/php4
and change it to:
extension_dir = /usr/lib/php5

I have also noticed that we are getting alot of mysql connect errors on many sites UNLESS the sites are put into 3.1 compatability mode.
Is there a way around this?
Is there any way to change the securty setting in mass? You cant open multple windows in Ensim web panel. If you get the details of many sitesin new windows they load but after you save the first one you get a drawing tool when you try to save the second.

mysql should work - though I've never tested it in high security personally - you may want to check the extension include path though.

After this upgrade i bet there is no more PHP4. Is there a way to install both?
Maybe i wasn't aware that PHP4 scripts works under PHP5?
Thanks to Gpan for his rpm for php4.3.10 anyway. Worked like a charm under Ensim 3.7 on FC1.

OK I installed the PHP 5.0.3 RPM's and all went well, but when I restarted apache, the following error occured:
Starting httpd: Syntax error on line 6 of /etc/httpd/conf.d/php.conf:

Something to do with one of the xml packages? Am I missing something?
I experience the same error. Haven't been able to figure out why that is.
I tried upgrading from 5.0.2.

Yep -
libxml-1.8.17-9.1
libxml2-2.5.10-7

It appears as if we need to have libxml 2.6.14... installed in order to solve the problem. However, when I try to install I get
rpm -Uvh libxml2-2.6.14-0.2.i386.rpm
error: Failed dependencies:
libxml2 = 2.5.10 is needed by (installed) libxml2-python-2.5.10-5
libxml2 = 2.5.10 is needed by (installed) libxml2-devel-2.5.10-5

You need to upgrade those two also.

Okay... I have apparently satisified all of PHP 5.03 requirements because I can now start the web server and my php pages are working fine. However, now Ensim is busted...
Here is what I have done so far.... I think:
-did rpm -i --force libxml2-2.6.14-0.2.i386.rpm
(because it would not let me upgrade due to dependencey)
-installed python requirements:
rpm -Uvh python2.3-2.3.4-3pydotorg.i386.rpm (required for)...next
rpm -Uvh libxml2-python-2.6.14-2.i386.rpm
rpm -Uvh libxml2-devel-2.6.14-0.2.i386.rpm
then I did a remove on: (not sure if I should have)
-rpm -e libxml2-2.5.10-5
-rpm -i --replacepkgs libxml2-2.6.14-0.2.i386.rpm
When I try to start the webppliance service I get....
service webppliance restart

Is there any way to change the securty setting in mass? You cant open multple windows in Ensim web panel. If you get the details of many sitesin new windows they load but after you save the first one you get a drawing tool when you try to save the second.
I've got this same problem. After upgrading my servers to php 5.0.3 .. they will not run in high security mode .. I had to set them to 3.1 compat just to get them working. Thats not good.
Is there a fix for this?

Hello gpan,
First off, for about the million'th time I presume.. thank you for the PHP rpm's...
Now off to the request is, if you'll ever release an updated RPM to support MySQLi funtions, or how could we go about doing it ?
Has I believe a lot of ppl should be using MySQL 4.1
Thank You
