Hi,
I'm having problems with tiny firewall 6. When I enable Windows Security it hangs Helm. When I try to access the Helm admin console via the web, it just hangs with no error message. Has anyone experience this? Is there a fix/work around for this problem?
Thanks,
Viet

Did you open up the port that uses helm?

Yes,
When Windows Security is turned off everything works fine.

Umm, that's odd. Can you check wether you're blocking scripting on your server when it's enabled. I know that some programs like Norton Antivirus can do this.

Hi Mark,
When I first install the firewall everything was fine then after a while Helm hangs when I try to access it via the web. To stop Helm hanging I have to stop Windows Security on the firewall and reboot the machine. I notice that if Windows Security is set to start at login, it causes Helm to hang when you try to access via the web. I have been talking to Tiny about this but nothing has come to light. The problem is that there are no errors in the logs for me to find out what is happening. I have reinstalled Helm and Tiny Firewall , everything works fine for a while (10-20 mins) then it happens all over again ;-(.
Thanks

Hi constantnet,
I'm facing this same problem with HELM, did you figure out a solution? if anyone who had faced something similar and had this problem solved, please post the solution in here, it might help a lot of people.
just wondering if any exe file is invoked when we call the HELM through the web? and if this will be fixed by giving in trusted status to these applications. this might be one approach to solve this.
Thanks

Hi,
Download the latest drivers for tinyfirewall. This should stop Helm from hanging.

I think this has to do with the permissions set for sqlsrvr.exe related to MSDE, as HELM uses MSDE as the database. I set changed the permissions for this and it seems to be working fine as of now.
will try and update the drivers as well for tinyfirewall.
thanks
