I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction to correct this problem.
I currently have 3 domains on the server with dedicated IPs using their own Geotrust SSL certs and all are working fine.
I used to have a 4th domain that had one, they let it expire and no longer use it. That domain is back on shared IP now.
A few weeks ago, I started getting errors logging in to WHM with it popping up the window telling me that this certificate belong to xyz.com (xyz.com being the 4th domain that is no longer using SSL)
I have been into /usr/shared/ssl/certs and /usr/shared/ssl/private and deleted all files there related to the domain in question.
However, the security window on the browser still pops up stating that it belongs to xyz.com and not the WHM I am trying to get into etc.
I have even tried resetting the cpanel/WHM certificate to no avail. It seems for some reason the cpanel/whm cert has taken on the identity of the cert for xyz.com
I would like to get this resolved so I can put all my users on https for their website's cpanels but I am stumped at this point.
Thanks for any help in advance!

You need a ssl certificate for each domain that wants https. The best way to do it is have everybody use
https://myhostingco.com/cpanel and then have a ssl cert for myhostingco. If not you are going to keep getting that error because when they try to connect they are going to see the certificate for that ip.

I think you misunderstand what I am having trouble with.
I understand each domain that normally runs on SSL needs it's own cert. In fact all the active ones have one of their own.
The problem that has popped up is that Cpanel/WHM SSL login has assumed the identity of a 4th website that at one time did have it's own certificate, yet no longer does as they let it expire. THAT domain is now back on shared status. It was NEVER related to WHM, reseller, or anything like that. Just a normal domain on the server. What I am trying to figure out is why WHM SSL has assumed the identity of the now removed SSL for that other website, and how to get rid of it.

Change cPanel/WHM Certificate
Reset cPanel/WHM Certificate
Either of those should work for you.

Ok, I have tried resetting it several times, only to get the same result.
To change it won't I have to generate a new one? And should I do this for the root domain of the server?
Thanks!

Yes go ahead and change it to the domain that people are going to be using to access whm/cpanel.

Well, that's the thing. Currently everyone is using
http://theirdomain.com/cpanel
I have been logging in to WHM with https even with the wrong cert showing. I figure it's better than not.
So basically if I am understanding, for any site to be able to log in to their cpanels as above with https then they all have to have their own cert, or I will have to have them log in to a central domain location, such as the main hosting domain? Do I understand that correctly?
