I use Urchin on our servers, recently I had a hosting client start ranting about us not allowing him to use the downloadable client installable Urchin App which would allow him much more power and control.

Does he have a clue? Is there any such thing?

I am not aware about any client-side Urchin solution.
Furthermore version 6 is only Urchin.com side - there is no solution available that you could install on your server.

Is Urchin moving to an ASP type model and totally away from the server installed solution? If so, that would really S**K in my opinion.

I sure as hell hope not since they charge a whopping $495/month for just ONE site. I can't imagine who in their right mind would pay this much a month just to look at stats, unless of course they're a Fortune 500 company.

They have an ASP model which is the current v6. They still have a standalone version which is currently in v5. What I assume the client was talking about is the UTM which allows greater statistic gathering. I was told the standalone version will be in v6 next year.
