Ok i have a site i want to host on an individual ip. I have bound the ip to the server and added the domain. When setting up the new domain I selected the new ip, the new ip is set to 'exclusive' mode.

Now, my nameservers are still showing the A record of the domain as the ip of my server, not the new ip.

The DNS records for the new domain within Plesk are showing the new ip, do I have to update the A record with my registrar or will plesk take request for the domain and route them to the appropriate ip?

What do you mean your nameservers are still showing the IP of your server?

There is a good possibility that wherever you are getting the IP from, has the old IP cached, and you ahve to wait for it to expire. If you updated the A records on your DNS server, everything should be fine after it expires at your ISP.

Try http://www.dnsreport.com and see if it gets the right IP for you. dnsreport.com doesn't cache any IPs, so it will tell you exactly what is up.

Unless you are using your registrar's nameservers, you shouldnt have to do anything with your registrar. If you are pointing to your own nameservers, which it implies that you are, then everything is fine with the registrar.

This is my first experience with Plesk, I've used Ensim in the past and have to admit I found it a bit more straight forward than Plesk, particularly where DNS is concerned. Very impressed with the features that Plesk offers though, and the look and feel of the Plesk 7 interface is way ahead of Ensim imo.
