I am not sure why plesk has spawned off two different version upgrades. Can someone clarify this? When I got an email announcement about plesk 7.0.4 released I figured I would do the upgrade, then I seen 7.1.1 available?
So I checked the Release Notes out and 7.1.1 has this touching blurb...
-------
IMPORTANT:
After upgrading your Plesk 7.0.x your Plesk 7.0.x key will be saved and replaced
by the Plesk 7.1 default key.
-------
Does plesk 7.1.1 require a different key other then the one I am running on 7.0.x ?
I have of course not seen a version upgrade from plesk replace the key unless it was needed, for example in the 6.x > 7 case.
Someone please help me out here.

from 7.0.x to 7.0.4 the same key work (i updated some servers without problems), but if you upgrade 7.0.x to 7.1, you need a new key.

Ya, their marketing around this whole 7.1.x vs 7.0.x is super confusing. Shame on Plesk for confusing their coustomers. I just sent an e-mail off to my rep to try to get some answers, hopfully they'll write something inteligent back.

If you have a plesk7.0.* key...and you upgrade your server to plesk7.1.*..the plesk key will auto-upgrade (if you are currently under the sus..or have an ev1 key).

I am really confused on why Plesk did this, but I have a couple of questions.
[list=1]
[*]What is the benefit going to 7.1.X over 7.0.4?
[*]I currently have the added features that were offered for free if you got in on 7.0.X in the beginning. (App vault, SA, etc..) Will I still have these for no additional cost if I upgrade?
[*]Do I have to open the port 5224 for the key upgrade? (It was mentioned in another post that the server needed to access that port.)

Thanks!

1. I haven't noticed a lot so far, but SPF support is good to have.
3. I found I had to (might've been my post you spotted); strangely, noone else seems to have mentioned it here or over in the Plesk forums. Either it was a quirk of my setup, or not many people with a firewall installed are upgrading.

OK, how long does it take to them to upgrade the license, is it inmediate??? or do I have to keep open that port for a long time?
By the way, guys, how is plesk reloaded, is it worth it? is it risky upgrading on a RHEL 3.0, Plesk 7.0.4 ?
Thank you!!
