I was looking into this package and wanted to see how would i use both drives in this system.

Could I use one as a system backup?

1 GB RAM - (2) 80GB Hard Drives
1400 GB Monthly Transfer

Depends on what control panel. No matter what you could manually set it up to backup to the second drive if you wrote your own script.

You will get one drive as / and the second drive will probably be unmounted and unused.

so could I use either cpanel to mount the drive in the WHM panel to backup to that drive?

Or would i need a SSH script to transfer the files?



But at least i would have a safety drive to back up to right.

Like the previous poster said, it depends on your Control Panel.

But, you could write a script (SSH is a service, can't write a 'SSH script') that would automate backups of the desired directories, and copy them to the second drive.

I can't think of anything offhand.. but a good google search would get you some good answers.

Since you said you are using cPanel it is very easy. Simply mount the second drive as /backup and it will automatically use it for backups
