hey,

my mysql seems down but i can't get it up again, even with a shutdown -r now it didn't came up.

i tried this: safe_mysqld &
result: [root@username root]# Starting mysqld daemon with databases from /var/lib/mysql
040730 05:44:45 mysqld ended

so it stopped directly. anyone know what i can do?

why not have a look in the mysql logfile?
