Hi,

on my new server p4, 2,4 ghz, 512 ram, rhel3, recently i got pretty bad reports, with only 2 active domains, and 6 in total.
I have PLesk 7.0.3 installed, and it seems that all my memory goes somewhere i have no clue.

For instance, doing "free", i got this:

Total Used Free Shared Buffer Cached Usage
499.92 470.91 29.00 0 64.93 81.60 94.2%

Now, i have Named running, APF, and nothing else (mysql, http of course) and as i said, i cannot figure out why all this memory loss.
All of a sudden, the system seems to hang over something.

Now i checked the running processes:

Process ID Owner Size Command
1207 mysql 123912 kB /usr/libexec/mysqld --defaults-file=/etc/my.cnf --basedir=/usr --datadir=/var/li ...
4744 named 35460 kB /usr/sbin/named -u named -c /etc/named.conf -u named -t /var/named/run-root
4374 apache 23696 kB /usr/sbin/httpd
4572 apache 23696 kB /usr/sbin/httpd
4368 apache 23688 kB /usr/sbin/httpd
4372 apache 23640 kB /usr/sbin/httpd
4369 apache 23608 kB /usr/sbin/httpd

4370 apache 23600 kB /usr/sbin/httpd
4570 apache 23580 kB /usr/sbin/httpd

1305 popuser 22996 kB /usr/bin/spamd --username=popuser --daemonize --helper-home-dir=/var/qmail --max ...

4371 apache 21516 kB /usr/sbin/httpd
4303 root 18860 kB /usr/sbin/httpd
4366 root 18804 kB /usr/sbin/httpd

I got this mysql, that seems wired to me, taking all that memory.
I want to know: if this happens with just 2 domains, one of them is vbulletin forum, how will it be than with the other 40 i have to transfer from the other server?
Meanwhile we're talking, the other server is a 1.7 celeron, with rh 7.3 and 512 ram, and it works perfectly.

Anyone may help?

This is normal when using Linux, which caches most things in to memory. Nothing to be worried about.
