Full Version: Question about Own Reseller DNS?

Hi,

i'd like to give reseller privileges to some users. I've done it to a user, i will call it by userX.

So... userX has requested his own DNS.

I've created a DNS ZONE called ns1.userx.com.br and ns2.userx.com.br. This two Zones Point to my servers's DNS.

When i do a dns check.
ns1/ns2.userx.com.br/ns2 point to my server's IP
but when i do a REVERSE check
these IP's point to ns1/ns2.myserver.com.br.

Then, my reseller's DNS doesn't have a trusted reverse.

What should i do? Keep this configuration, or assing TWO diferent IP's for each reseller that i setup?

I'm asking this, because one account under this reseller, sometimes, can't receive e-mails. If i try to send an email from hotmail to this account (thats under reseller), this e-mail never reach their destination, and come back as RELAYED.

I think it might be because hotmail's server cannot check DNS/Reverse for ns1/ns2.userx.com.br.

Any suggestions?

well if you want the reverse to match the foward then you need two additional IP addresses.

i dont know if hotmail checks reverse of dns servers but it wouldnt surprise me with the amount spam coming down the pipe.. however if that was the case then it would be the end of virtual webhosting (sharing of ip addresses)

since that means they would also check reverse of the domain names.
