Last night, I started having weird problems with WHM Release version running sluggishly, so I figured it must be in the middle of an update. Today, same thing (partial WHM page displays, slow response). So I tried to login as root and got in, but never got a a command promt via SSH (btw, Telnet is disabled). Also, ssh nameserver is not found. So, I did a graceful server reboot after finally getting enough of WHM to display to do that, but the server is in the same state as prior to reboot. Anyone having simililar issues or know what may be causing this? FYI, I have APF and PSAD installed and have had no security issues to date.

Did another reboot via Trouble Ticket and server did not come back up. mad.gif The message from support was:

server won't boot into kernel. here are the error messages:

"cat: /proc/cmdline   file or directory not found"

I press crtl + C to get past that and recieve this error:

"cat: /proc/cpuinfo    file or directory not found"

Crtl + C doesn't work at this point. When I try to crtl + alt + delete I get an error saying:

"pidof:  /proc not mounted, "

I received the same errors in your second kernel. It looks as though you might have deleted your /proc directory, and your going to need to order a restore in another ticket.

Obviously, I did NOT delete my /proc library, so I'm now having to pay for a restore. I believe this to be related to a WHM release tree automatic update, but I have no proof at this point. Will keep you posted of the outcome. I'm now having MAJOR reservations now about Enterprise 3/WHM issues on the Celeron 2 boxes! Never had anything like this happen on Redhat 7.3 on my Celeron 1.7.

Well, things are going downhill rapidly! mad.gif After the restore completed (with very fast service, I might add), I quickly discovered that I no longer have WHM/CPanel installed at all, so I re-opened the Trouble Ticket requesting that they also be restored, and I got the following response:

DataCenter
Oh sorry I forgot to mention that to you. Our cpanel install scripts haven't been working at all for these last two days. The person who attends to such matters is out of town until tomorrow morning. We will install cpanel at the first oppurtunity we have. Sorry for the inconvenience. I will leave this ticket open and marked with cpanel to make sure it gets attended to.

So I asked if there wasn't a restore program that could restore everything, and the response was:

DataCenter
No we do not. Unless it is a windows system we have to install the os separeately from WHM/cpanel. I'm sorry but there is nothing I can do to alleviate this problem at this time. You will have to wait until our scripts are working properly. You are not the only one that this has affected. Thank you for your patience, and I'm sorry for any problems this has casued for you, but there really is nothing that can be done

After 2-and-a-half-years of being thrilled with RackShack servers and support, I am now unable to get my server back up. MAN, THIS REALLY BITES!!! mad.gif
