I have a regular host server where we host all our sites.
On top of that we have several dual xeons which run other applications.

When chosing a host name for a new server, is it possible to use one directly coonected to our main DNS server.
e.g. anyname.myhost.com

I heard something about being able to do this.

Has anyone any idea what Im babbling about, I recall it involvers getting the DC to add PTR records & it involves me adding an A record on the myhost.com server.

yes you can chose a subdomain.
as long as you resolve that subdomain to the ip of the server.
