Does it hurt Plesk at all? Does Plesk rely on any specific version? Does Plesk rely on a specific minimum set of modules/extensions? I had PHP5 before I installed plesk, along with pgsql and mysql (latest versions) and Plesk whinged, so I removed eveything except Apache2.

I do know how to compile PHP, so this isn't one of those questions, just wondering if there are any impacts on the system as I want to recompile PHP to include a lot of modules that aren't there. I will be sticking with the 4.X series unless anyone acn say that PHP5 DOES work fine...

Cheers

Plesk relay on it's own compile of PHP, but I don't suggest you to try PHP5 because you can mess its libraries.

Plesk uses it's own apache server, with it's own php. So, both are separated from the client side of things and you can recompile php anytime you want... As far as Plesk itself is concerned, there shouldn't be any problems at all...
