I've just got the XP 1700 and installed plesk 2.5 on it. I need postgresql 7.1.3 installed to be able to run my mailing list software. On rpmfind.net the rh7.1 rpm is 7.0.3. The 7.1.3 dist is for rh7.2, would this be ok?. Are there any other distributions that are compatible i.e pld linux, rawhide?.

Thanks,

The rawhide versions should work just fine. The only real difference is that they aren't tested as much for the particular OS, but they're also typically more up to date. I use mostly software that was made for rawhide myself (including my kernel).

I usually use the ones at this mirror:
ftp://mirrors.kernel.org/redhat/redhat/li...86/RedHat/RPMS/

Thanks for your help. I've had my server rebuilt as I try to work out what to do. I'm gonna install Plesk 2.5 first and then upgrade php, or should I upgrade php first??? (life is full of questions:)).
