I find it strange too that they give the program for free, but feel the need to encode it.

This is why I deleted it.

Could the developers say here why its encoded and what details it calls home with?

If not I'll just rip it apart and find out myself and post details here.

We offer it for free as an advertising tool for DRAMS.

It is encrypted because we utilize code in WHMmonitor that is also part of DRAMS. This is custom code that we developed, and is not open source.

The only reason it 'checks in' is to look and see if there is a newer version.

Originally WHMmonitor was slated to have a price tag on it, but we opted for free with a couple banners on the index.

You would feel better running it if we charged for it? icon_smile.gif

sorta bringing up an older post, I'm aware.

Seems a lot of folks at WHT have installed this.. mind you they don't really seem to be the 'type' to rip stuff up and make sure its not doing nasty things..

Anyways.. I only have one cpanel box.. so I don't need this now anyways. :b

(I don't think I want a second one until they fix their vulns quicker)
