Full Version: Mysql and named problem with latest update, very important!

This morning (spanish time) mysql crashed and stopped working.

Some time later bind stopped working.

Looking at logs and reading lots of stuff I think the problem came when cpanel updated itself automatically. I have it set to update on the release tree.

Mysql gives a sock error:

mysql has failed, please contact the sysadmin (result was "/usr/bin/mysqlshow: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)").

Bind gives a pid error:

couldn't open pid file '/var/run/named/named.pid': Permission denied

I have tried restarting the server, updating cpanel to the current tree, reseting the mysql root password (as suggested in cpanel forums) and many other things but it still doesn't work.

I don't know what else to do. I have written a support ticket to cpanel but since it is sunday they don't answer.

Is anyone else having this problem? I just upgraded to S65 and I get the above Mysql error. Right now Mysql is not working on the server.

Using RH9

Thanks.
