I made a mistake and thought that ordering this restore package:

†† EV1Servers will leave the existing drive intact and install your control panel selection to a slave drive so that you can transfer your data to it. After you have specified that your data has been transfered, we will remove the old drive and mount the Red Hat Enterprise drive as the primary drive. It is still recommended that a backup of data is made prior to ordering this option. This process is generally completed within 48-72 hours of ordering (this timeframe is NOT guaranteed).
Don't ask but I thought that the existing drive would left in place and the sites on the server would be active while the transfder took place.(the problem was i did not notify my clients of this and the restore was done or started in 7 minutes!!)So a what they did was then too swap the drives after the restore, now the slave is the primary. I have mounted the drive.
I have transfered all sites with the following commands
cd /home
cp -a
The question is this thread:

Is it necessary to Rsync the files ?
Is this thread good advice?
I have talked with different techs and each gives a different answer, that is why I am asking.
Thanks
